Has anyone successfully shipped or had a Showman shipped to them?
I've discovered after listing my '65 Showman for 1 year on Reverb and eBay there is no one local interested in it and I'm considering the shipping option. But just the thought of lugging it to the Fedex or UPS store has me having second thoughts.

Yes. Get a box.and put hardened insulation foam in to fill the spaces. Ship in two boxes.

It's a pain in the ass, but can be done. I totally agree with splitting them up.

I never shipped one, but had two shipped to me (one with a cab in a separate box). I was surprised the shipping wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. Agreed with advice above. Good new box, hardened insulation, double boxing a good idea.
Also - Greyhound ships depot to depot (trick that Jobeast told me about), can help keep the cost down, but of course you have to have a willing buyer.
Good luck
