Hello
I am a beginner to play guitar, I have found that it very nice to learn guitar play through a clone of guitar pro that is named tux guitar that runs on Linux and I think also on Windows. I have not found many surf music tabs to run in it. Or surf music tabs at all actually. Where can I find or buy tabs to learn how to play surf music on my strata guitar? I prefer tabs that is playable in guitar pro.

Please see my comment on the thread about cheap reverb. You don’t need tabs! They won’t help you learn as much as watching an expert guitar player for one hour.

Have you checked out our download page? There's tabs and backing tracks. Have fun!

Backing tracks are songs without the lead guitar, so you can play along. You'll have to find the tab for the song first, practice it and then try playing along.

Try to learn your major and minor scales. A lot of songs are hiding in them.
I'm just a hobbyist and still use tabs on occasion, but I've gotten to where a lot of stuff I'd like to learn has no tabs available. Then I just have to suck it up and figure it out by ear.
As your ear gets better you'll realize a lot of online tabs are incomplete or wrong altogether.

Contrary to many I believe tabs can be a valuable asset to new players.
And true, many times, tabs aren't correct to the original song.
However, many players who figure it out by ear don't play songs correctly as the original song either. They play their own interpretation of the song. Ear players might play songs on, or near the same notes on a different place on the fretboard. But it becomes their own interpretation.
As far as tabs go I think they help the beginner find the sounds of notes even if they don't understand the fretboard.
It helps give them courage to keep playing when they can knock out a reasonable version of a song they like.

There are some Guitar Pro style surf tabs over at ultimate-guitar.com; mostly standards from the big-name first wave bands, but a few others too. The easiest way to find them is to go over there and search by band name. They've got stuff by The Ventures, Dick Dale, The Shadows, The Surfaris, etc. As folks have mentioned, the quality/accuracy varies a bit from song to song, but there are some good ones, and it will give you a place to start.
