Permalink Stiletto Guitars

I just read a description of heavily reverberated Fender Jaguar and Jazzmasters being double picked on the high notes as Stiletto guitars. It wasn't aimed directly at surf guitar but at incredibly surfish guitars.

I personally loved this description coined by David Fricke. Sharp and piercing.

I like to call it the ice pick in the ear syndrome, got a love hate relationship with that feeling.
it hurts but oh sooo good.
makes my the hair on my arms stand up, and my neck tingle.

Yeah, I originally learned it as ice picks to the ears. I'm going to call it stiletto guitars now. It sounds cooler and it doesn't have negative connotations as in having ones ears brutally attacked.

having ones ears brutally attacked.

Hmm... that's even better. I think that's what I will call it now on.
