I am a big fan of Tormentos-Tone. I can’t think of another surf band extant who sound so LOUD! My ears are still ringing from the many replays of Nowhere to Hide. Baddass!

Could any Tormento comment on the band's equipment and recording technique? They have a striking sound that is much more extreme than many bands'.

I got to tell you that in our first record (2001) (you told me that you like the sound of Nowherer to Hide) we use a Fender Twin reverb, with an outboard fender reverb unit RI, a Fender Strat and a Fender Mustang Japan, the secret was NOT FEAR THE REVERB! haha
In this one we search for a more "hi-fi" or "not hurt anyone's ears" sound.
Also the equipment was very different, we use 2 Fender Showman amps, (1x15" & 2x12") 2 Fender Jazzmaster AVRI, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Reverb Unit 64 and 2 reissue. We recorded live at the studio with 3 guitars, bass and drums. We are very happy with the results! well you could get a sample of what I mean in the teaser!

Dacho,
I could have guessed there were Strats and Twins in the mix. The hard edges of your sound are classic and distinctive. It's great that the new record captures a live performance.

To my ears this latest Tormentos album uses plenty of the "mastering" effect on the tracks. This effect applies compression to the entire mix, but the mix is split into several different frequency bands. Each band can have its own compression characteristics and of course its own volume. Mastering can produce a fairly steady volume level through the song.
I use the mastering effect similarly and my results are similar to this Tormentos album. This is probably one reason why Pandora radio often switches to the Tormentos when I listen to my own recordings on it.

This album is on Bandcamp, but only for listening. Can you release this album on Bandcamp as digital album to buy? That would be great!
