Does anyone know about any upcoming surf shows in the Puget Sound area (Seattle, Tacoma)?
—Gabe
Our beaches here get 3 foot tall waves, but it doesn't matter. You don't need to surf to play surf.

Not all ages. The all ages shows people tend to play they don't advertise because they are paying gigs like car shows, street fairs, etc... So it is good to ask every now and then. All-ages outdoor gig season is closing. We haven't done one in a decade... I wish we could play all-ages. We did back in the day quite a bit. There is absolutely zero money to be made in all-ages gigs. Both the venue or band. That is why all-ages venues don't exist (Vera Project is one I can think of, which is funded). And they are normally at 5pm... |

Ah, gotcha. I would play all ages if I actually could have a real band, but I see what you mean. —Gabe Our beaches here get 3 foot tall waves, but it doesn't matter. You don't need to surf to play surf. |

Yeah, almost all of the shows up here are in bars. Occasionally there will be one in a venue with a separate bar/show area so that underage folks can attend. Los Straitjackets are playing at the Tractor on 9/16. You just missed a couple of great shows at the end of August and beginning of September (The Delstroyers, The 'Verb, Aloha Screwdriver). Darrell's Tavern (https://www.facebook.com/Darrells-Tavern-168822649813454/) is a good place to keep an eye on. They host the majority of the surf shows I've seen recently. Also, keep an eye on the pages for local bands like The Delstroyers, The 'Verb, The Evanstones, etc. since at least one of them will tend to be attached to a local surf gig and will advertise when it's happening. —Four String Fender for The Delstroyers & The Woodhavens |

Darrell's is over 21 always. Tractor isn't always over 21. They were 18+ for one of the shows we played there. But almost always 21+. |

Ocean Men are playing late September at The Bainbridge Island Brewery. Not sure of the date but it will be the 23rd or the 30th of Sept. Surf/psych/instro covers and originals. I will post on SG101 when I nail down the date with the owner of the brew Pub. RobC |

Delstroyers are, don't think Evanstones are. Slim's is that the Georgetown one? |

Yeah, that's Slim's Last Chance. That's also where Messer Chups and The Boss Martians are playing on 10/21. —Four String Fender for The Delstroyers & The Woodhavens |
