Permalink Eddie Bertrand's Gomez Surfer Amp and Cabinet SOLD!

SOLD!!

This Gomez Surfer Amp was once owned and played By Eddie Bertrand of Eddie and The Showmen and The Belairs. I bought it from Craig Skelly about 3 years ago, who purchased it from Eddies Estate through Steve Soest, who liquidated Eddies estate after he died. Eddie used this amp, along with a Gomez El-Sonido exclusively when he made his comeback to surf.

The amp is in very good condition - it's labeled #18 inside, out of the 40 Surfer heads that were built in total. There are a few scuffs, but nothing major. I happen to know Eddie loved and played this amp a lot, and he mentioned how this amp sounded exactly like his amps from the 60's.

The 2x15" cabinet is loaded with Weber Neo-Mag speakers, so it's lighter than a JBL D-130F equipped cabinet, but sounds very similar.

It comes with the original covers, along with a letter from Craig Skelly verifying it's origins.

I also have a foot switch for the tremolo I will include.

I'm asking $2300 shipped in the US. I'll pack it well, I've shipped several cabinets this size in the past without a problem.

I'd love for this amp to stay in the family!

Historic, beautiful and (no doubt) toneful to the max! If only I had the "Scratch."

P.S. I can attest that Sonichris is a master of packing Gomez products to arrive safely. I still grin like a child when playing through the G-Spring he sent my way. Someone buy this so I can stop daydreaming & scheming!

SOLD! Thanks all!

That was quick, as it should have been. Congrats on the sale. Smile

Ditto. I hope in my heart it is with someone who will PLAY it, OUT, and not be relegated to be gazed upon by a collector. Warm tubes are happy tubes (it po's the electrons but that's what they get for being inherently lazy.)

Well done Chris.
Thumbs Up
