Hi all,
Hope you are in good health and spirit.
It took me, how long, maybe 10 years to figure out what most of you have done from the beginning.
Here are my settings (see pictures below):
Guitar ---- from the Yamaha MagicStomp, directly to the Yamaha MDP5 Midi Player “Mic in”.
The “Mic in” has its own volume.
The “Output of the MDP5 is split in 2: - One going directly to the “Mic in” of the video camera
- One going to my headphone
This way I can hear and play live (and still have misses though ...).
I think it sounds better than the capture through the built-in mics of the camera.
Also, you probably noticed that the MDP5 has a pretty good sound for a Midi player.
Hope you like it.
Blessings,
Abdel

I'm curious to know what a Yamaha MDP5 Midi Player is, Google doesn't seem to recognise it. It's a great tune and you play it really well. The backing sounds quite British to my ears - old TV programmes my folks used to watch like "Come Dancing" was full of this kind of sound.

Hi all,
Glad you liked it, though your good rating is probably largely influenced by the excellent quality of the Midi backing, orchestra type.
Anyone would sound good with that kind of backing. I was impressed with the quality of the midi file and the unit.
I have a very good sounding "In The Mood", "Sing Sing Sing", "Take Five" etc... midi files. It's next..
Crumble,
I will post for you tonight all the info on this unit.
If you come across one, get it, it's a superb unit, it does it all.
Plug the guitar in it and send the output to whatever unit you want.
On a 32MB SmartMedia Card, you can put around ... 10,000 midi files.
Blessings,
Abdel

Hi Crumble,
Let me know if you get one. There is no English documentation, but there is
a forum where they have figured out everything about it.
It was sold only in Japan.
I am thinking about getting a second one just in case the lcd screen gives up.
Blessings,
Abdel
