Permalink Where do surf bands gig?

The Royal Aces play at the same Colorado venues and bars where rock, rockabilly, and blues bands play. Also, big events at beer companies have been very enjoyable, and they are great crowds to play for. Then, car and motorcycle shows have been excellent events for us,too.

However, we have found that it's not best for us to play only classic type surf (we lose the crowd's interest, except for the four or five people who love surf). So, we mix in instrumental versions of more broadly recognizable stuff (like the Straitjackets do), and the end result has been more gigging than any bunch of old guys deserve! www.reverbnation.com/theroyalaces
