Permalink Martin Cilia tabs

Hello all, first post here.

I'm looking for complete tabs of Surfabilly and Return of the Surf Guitar by Martin Cilia. I have downloaded the one's on his web site but I'm not good enough to fill in the solo parts myself so has anybody else transcribed these complete with the solo ad lib parts?

I emailed Martin and he suggested I check this site out so here I am Smile

Thank you.

Welcome to the page. Sadly I don't have what you are requesting though, but I'm sure someone will chime in with something more useful.

I guess I'm not sure what you're looking for. The .pdf tabs I have from Martin ARE the lead parts (with relevant chords over the measures).
Confused

EDIT: Ah, I think I see what you mean if (using "Return..." as example). You mean the part about 1:30 into the song where he's doing a bluesy like ad lib? (and says ad lib on the tab)

I would take that to mean, well, ad lib - go for it. It's often fun to make up something similar but your own so that, as you go from point A thru point B, you arrive at point C back in the context of the song. There is some learning that takes place.

I did that quite awhile ago with "Flight..." where I ended up making my own little break in there that still gets me back to the meat of the song when the hook resumes. Not even sure I could play it to the original now. (I just use the occasional tab as a guide or to answer a question like "where is he playin this on the neck?" kinda thing).

Perhaps you could download TuxGuitar software & painstakingly tab it out but the side-effect is you'll learn how to play it anyway.

The 2 tabs I mentioned have an empty section called Solo (ad lib) so I'm wondering if anybody has created tabs for those parts.

Sorry - I was editing my post above; I see what you mean.

I private messaged you a link to a Facebook video showing my version of the "Return of the Surf Guitar" solo that I transcribed a few years ago.
It's not tab but it might be useful in giving you a pretty decent idea of how to play it.

You should post that link for all of us. I know I'd like to see it as well, blueruins.

I'll leave this up for a little while, hopefully that works?

Well done. Just had a chance to watch it.

Thank you Mr. Cilia! That's a fine solo that you played.
Love how rhythmic your approach is and especially the fact that it takes you on a story rather than just sequence of licks. Very melodic and cool.
