So my band recently fell into learning Stampede by the Scarlets. It struck me as less surf and more 60s garage. So I guess we are evolving into doing more than just surf instrumentals. Anyway, it reminded me of some Russ Meyers movies. Along with some other B movies from that era I used to love. I remember one was about a sea creature. But all of the water scenes were obviously filmed in a small pool. The monster was basically a deep diving suit. And out of nowhere, there was a party scene with a great band playing some 60s instrumentals. Anyone else dig these movies? What are some others with good music?

Another recommendation would be "The Beach Girls and the Monster" (1965), which uses real instro surf by the Hustlers (if I remember correctly), as the score.

The Phantom Surfers put out an album in the 90s covering songs from (mostly) B-movies. It's worth checking out:

I can't remember at the moment if the names of the movies are included.
Batwoman vs. Ratfink is actually the Spotnick's theme song. It's in the glorious b-movie the Wild World of Batwoman.

The Skydivers

It's a Francis Coleman epic, which means a lot of inane dialog, molasses-like plot, and an incomprehensible ending. But there's an instrumental band toward the end that takes up a good ten-fifteen minutes of film, and it's pretty good tunes.
