Hi all
Still looking at making the jaunt over to SG101 Convention No. 10 (fingers crossed) and was hoping to sneak in a few other things as well during a stay of approx two weeks.
Was hoping to do the Fender factory tour but it is out of action at the moment according to Fender.com
Do any locals have any inside knowledge on when and if the Fender factory tour is likely to be up and running again?
No word on Fender site just that its returning sometime
Cheers
Sean

I was planning a trip down for SG101 2016 and the Factory Tour and Visitor Center. I was heartbroken when in the weeks leading up to that the news broke that it was shuttered.
I cancelled my plans altogether. It was meant to be a trip of a lifetime and I was going to get my own custom ordered Strat.
I would love to see it up and running again and I have heard no news whatsoever from my California contacts. Fender.com still displays the original message of its closure.

Not Fender, but the Taylor Guitars factory tour is impressive. It's a bit of a drive from the LA area so you might spend the rest of the day checking out the sights of San Diego.

I live about 5 or 10 minutes from the Taylor Guitars facilty. If you decide to go there and check it out, send me a PM, and I can reccomended some other places to also see, while in the area.

Far be it from me to tell you what to do. But I've been to 8 of the 9 conventions, and if you work in a couple of pre and post shows, it can still be a life changing event...!

Question for anybody that wants to do A Fender Factory tour,
If you are coming to the Surf Convention.
Dave Wronski says they will do a special tour for us.
They prefer to do it on Thursday, but can maybe do it Friday if need be.
What day is preferred if you can/want to go?
Please answer soon, and ask friends to chime in,
If you know they are coming.

I have never gotten to do this, and would love to! I don't yet know when I'll be arriving but most likely Thursday evening, so would definitely prefer to have the tour on Friday, if possible.
Thanks, Jeff and Dave!!

Thanks for organising that Dave especially considering the email response from Fender was that the tour was closed for now with no re-opening time scheduled.
Unfortunately I will be unable to attend as I booked my USA trip last week and couldn't really stretch it out to include the SG 101 convention.
Cheers Sean

I did it a few years back. There were a few scheduling and admission twists as I recall but it was pretty cool nonetheless. No freebies out the back door.
