Yes, I hear they were a pretty popular local band in the capitol of Des Moines in the early to mid 90's. I bought their CD from Bob Dalley, of all people, on E-Bay. It was more rock than surf as I recall (riff based). I need to listen to it again. Other Iowa / surf connections: There was a 60's band called The Slough Boys that had a single called "Surfin' Cedar Lake", I believe. They were from Cedar Rapids I think. I can't find any info on them. I think the single appears on one of the Surfin' in the Midwest comps. Brian Poole from the 90's San Francisco band The Torpedoes now lives in the Quad Cities. And uh, hmmm, that's about it. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |
