Im considering modifying my Joyo Tremolo as iv found a video on youtube thats made it seem super simple for someone s limited as me on electrical tinkering.....despite a few differences in a few components, its a clone of the Demeter Tremulator.
The Joyo Tremolo has a stock flat triangle wave shape....the pot mod will enable the capabilities of a square wave all the way to a triangle.....would this mod be worth my time?
I only ask because im not sure what the most common wave shape is for surf.
To those of you who do use tremolo,do you find yourself staying with the same shape constantly for either habit or nostalgic reasons and just switch up depth and speed? Or do you prefer to switch it around all across the board?

The wave 'shapes' are simplified cuts of the volume envelope graph. Square wave corresponds to drastic rise and fall, i.e. choppy, i.e. machine-gun type. (which is hard to dial in without a 'bias' control).
It's fun, but as far from classic surf as you can get.
Still why not? up to you! It will probably affect the re-sellability of the pedal if it's any concern. A yeah, Joyo Go ahead then...
From the simple shapes, classic trems would best be described as 'sine' (Though there's some interlacing going on). Maybe one of the in-between settings can get you a 'soft trapezoid', which may or not sound like Fender.
Personally I got rid of all my over the top versatile trem pedals.
I only need the Blackface/Brownface sounds in my life, and the Surfy-Bear Tremolo (to be released... sometime) provides that to the fullness.

Oh do I!!! https://surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/28106/?page=2#p381426 (was honored to take part in early testing.)
Might be time for a better demo though...

Oh, COOL. Forgot that. I thought you were waiting for the main release. (I got mine via the Lorenzo initial run.)

Latherman87, sorry for the hijack... Good luck.
Modding a pedal is a good starting point, as it builds confidence.
Kilian, that could be very cool! What do you have in mind?

Hi Ariel,
good question. We should make a real video with excellent tonal quality.
Not just the usual: 'Hi, I'm blabla from blabla and here's a Les Paul on neck PU for maximum blues.'
Something really surfy! What do you think?
Cheers
Kilian
P.S.: Emptied my inbox, let's move to pm.
