Yeah, it's a long shot, but with Texotica production on hold for the immediate future, figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Wondering if anyone has a Saratoga they might be willing to part with? This is basically a 15W, brownface princeton style amp with a single 12" speaker and onboard tremolo.
I'm currently playing through a '65 Bandmaster which sounds awesome, but way more horsepower than I need for late night woodshedding. Any leads appreciated.

It's funny, I wanted a Texotica Saratoga and Reverb Unit back when I was broke. Now I have gear money and he's no longer making the amps. Best of luck in the search! I certainly don't see many pop up used.

Similar story here as well... by the time I figured out I "needed" a tank and set out to order one, I learned that Billy was putting Texotica on hold for awhile. I got crazy lucky and found a used one on my local craigslist. Turns out the guy lives nearby and he's asked more than once if I was interested in selling the tank back to him. So yeah, not many made in the first place and most folks who have them likely keeping them. But like I said, never hurts to ask. I'll let you know if I come across anything.

So, I found a Texotica Saratoga in the same place I learned about their products to begin with... right here on SG101! Huge thanks to Dave at Talsma Stringed Instruments for helping make my tone-quest dreams come true.
The amp arrived yesterday and I am absolutely blown away by the workmanship and tones coming outta this thing. It's super responsive to tone knob adjustments (amp and guitar) and the onboard tremolo has just obsoleted my coveted Voodoo Labs pedal.
Definitely looking forward to spending more time with it but man, what a first impression!

Congrats!
I was in the market for a Texotica amp a few years ago, right around the time they pulled production. I ended up going with a 68 Custom DR, which is a nice amp too, but I suspect lacks some of the soul that the Texotica amp would have had.
Enjoy your new toy!

Thanks, Sean! I really hope Billy gets back to Texotica when the time is right for him.
Until that time (and speaking of soul) are you in the market for a '65 Bandmaster? The amp sounds as incredible as it looks... a true survivor with classic surf tone and mojo. If money were no object, I would keep it for sure.
It's just hard to justify having two killer amps when the only instrument I ever play live is a drum kit.

I just bought a Classic Series 50s Stratocaster last weekend and have yet to sell the Gretsch Pro Jet that was supposed to fund that purchase, so my wife would throw me out of the house if I came home with yet another amp anytime soon!
