I just came across this VHS artifact whilst cleaning out a closet and thought it might be of some interest. My old band used to play this annual holiday event. The audio is horrible and the camera (and playing!) is shaky, but here's me and my mates doing The Cove (original), Pipeline, and Out of Limits. Those were good times, the crowds seemed to have a lot more fun than nowadays (I guess we're all a lot older!).
On a personal note, when this was shot I had just been dating the dark haired cutie in the back for a few months. Two years later she became the Mrs.

Wow, you have our 1st single... in Germany???? That's crazy! Our singer left shortly after recording "Surfin' in Outer Space" and we carried on as a four piece.
Here was the lineup:
John Conine - vocals
Pete Botica - guitar
Bill Smith (me) - guitar, vocals
Chuck Christensen - bass
Max Wheatley - drums
Max put some of our old stuff up on Myspace a long time ago and it's still there. Here's a link THE DIALTONES

I thought that might have been Pete on the other guitar.

hello Bill,
many thanks for the informations on ther band.
I believe (as most of my records) it was ordered in America and mailed to me. In those years I tried to get any new item of surf music...
Meanwhile it has become too much and my space and money is (as it was already in those years) very limited!
surfingly yours
