I am a huge fan of Link Wray, especially the later stuff that borders on punk rock. I play in a band along that line called the Buckrabbits. Practically a bunch of hillbillies from rural Alabama. Man or Astroman is another influence, and neighbor. Any other suggestions for edgy punk/surf.

Welcome Buck, I would like to suggest getting on interstate 20 eastbound early on Saturday September 17th and joining us for the Southern Surf Stomp.

They are somewhat hard to categorize, but you may want to check out 'Southern Culture on the Skids'. (aka SCOTS)
They are a multi-genre type band, but they do play Surf. Pretty cool band. They actually play all kinds of stuff.

I totally dig SCOTS, they did a killer version of I'm Branded on the Think Link EP. Is the Southern Surf Stompfest the same folks who used to do the Clarkston Surf Fest? We actually played at that a few years back.

There's a ton of surf-punk out there, here are some favorites from the Texas scene:
The Really Rottens - sadly on indefinite hiatus, they did Link Wray and Dead Kennedys covers - http://thereallyrottens.bandcamp.com/
Bat City Surfers - a little Misfits and some metal in yr surf - http://rer623.wix.com/batcitysurfers
The Sonomatics - bluesy punk-surf - http://www.reverbnation.com/thesonomatics
The Spoils - my band! our new lineup is getting comparisons to anarcho-punk experimentalists The Ex, but our debut is closer to straight-up hard surf-punk. - http://thespoils.bandcamp.com/album/have-a-drink-with-the-spoils

I have been checking out the bands you guys suggested and really digging all of them, especially the Really Rotten's! I also stumbled across Satan's Pilgrims. I love Haunted House of Rock. If you guys haven't heard it check out SCOTS version of I'm Branded, and as always check out the Buckrabbits(my band) We have run up on an old live recording that is pretty good quality so I'll probably have that on the bandcamp page soon.Hopefully cutting tracks for a new EP this month.

Demon Vendetta and the Irradiates (both from France) are two bands I'm thinking of in this style

Hey Bucky, great tunes! Are you familiar with fellow Alabamans The KBK (formerly Kill, Baby...Kill!), The High Fidelics, and The Original Shake Charmers? If you're into Link, you HAVE to check out NC's Phatlynx featuring Crispy Bess formerly of the aforementioned SCOTS.
Is the Southern Surf Stompfest the same folks who used to do the Clarkston Surf Fest? We actually played at that a few years back.
Not exactly the same, but definitely some of the key players like The Surge's Eddie Katcher and The Mystery Men?'s Jamie Galatas. We also do a monthly show in Decatur so let us know if you'd ever like to come back to Atlanta.

No problem, just let me know sooner than later as we tend to stay booked pretty far in advance (I think right now we're booked until April!).

Wow, that's cool. Are the shows on Saturdays? If they are go ahead and put us in. I'm guessing there are a few bands on the bill. We do about 45 minutes.

For full on punk surf I'd recommend Mullet Monster Mafia. More full speed balls out than the ominous sense of violence that Link Wray has.
Have a look at Messer Chups too. Less punky, but a great 50s/rock n roll vibe going on.
See if you can track down a recording of Salba's old surf band Powerflex 5, they were pretty full on.
