I am gonna list these on eBay, but thought I would give you all a chance before I do it. For sale:
(1) Mexican Standard Strat, very unusual green/blue metalflake color - it actually changes from green to blue in stagelight. The green is predominant, but at a 45-degree angle, it is a deep blue. Has matching headstock and silver Fender logo.
Only 200 of these were made. Maple "C" neck, skunk stripe, ebony fret markets, old-style 6-point tremelo, aged mint-green pickguard, knobs, & trem cover; modern sealed tuners. Tone is very vintage, with nice upper level harmonics. Overall, a very nice surf strat and a real stage show piece. $449. Contact for photos.
(1) Surfmaster Custom 6-string. Handmade by a New York luthier, this dual-single coil guitar has Danalectro-style lipstick pups made by Kent Armstrong; birdseye maple neck with abalone fret inlays; jumbo frets; 22-fret fingerboard; knurled chrome control knobs (Vol.-Tone-Vol.-3-position switch); Surf-green body made of basswood is a cross between a Strat and Jazzmaster; Strat-style tremelo; modern Grover sealed tuners; bullet truss rod. $499. Contact for photos.
(1) Early 80s Aria Titan Artist (TA) 70 ES-335-style semi-hollowbody. Black with aged yellow body binding and neck binding. Very handsome Gibson-style guitar made in the famous Japanese Matsomoku factory. Mortised fixed neck, very comfortable and fast "C" style; sealed tuners; twin chrome humbuckers; fixed Adjustomatic bridge. Issues: neck has a crack at head that was fixed by a luthier; also, four filled holes that once accomodated a Bigsby-style trem. Neither repair is visible, and they doo't affect play.
A very sweet blues-rock or rockabilly guitar. Very versatile, nice tone. Paint is excellent! Minor worming on back side, but otherwise really good for a guitar of this age.
$199. Contact for pics.
