Ann Groves was a huge surf music fan, and a member of Surf Guitar 101. She was one of the many people I was hoping to meet while in California for the upcoming SG101 Convention. Now she's joined an elect group of surf music fans and musicians who preceded her to the Endless Summer.
To the family and countless friends of Ann, please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss. I'm so very deeply sorry. Ann, please pass on our love and affection to Marty, Eddie, and the rest. We sure miss you all.

WHAT??? Oh my God. This is the first I've heard of this, and I just can't believe it. We got to meet her just over a month ago at Winters in Pacifica at the Blair-Pongracic Band/TomorrowMen/Drifting Sand show, and she seemed vibrant, funny and full of life. I'm completely shocked and in disbelief. My deepest condolences to all of Ann's family. I will miss her.

I'm still in shock. We were Facebook friends for a long time and finally met in person 3 years ago. She was even more fun in real life and took such good care of us when we visited.
She was a huge supporter of the surf scene and an amazing person. She will be missed.

Ann was mainly a creature of Facebook, but she did submit some content to SG101, and it seems fitting her only forum post was trying to help someone else in their time of need.
I really enjoyed her FB posts and her enthusiasm for the music and people in the scene. I thought it was amazing she was learning the drums and it was so cool when she shared her progress with her friends on FB. I was hoping to meet her eventually at a surf show, she seemed like such an incredibly smart, funny, and warm human being.
R.I.P. Ann.

That's a great photo Mandy. That was such a great time getting to meet you, Martin, Lloyd, and Janet.

Speaking of photos, Ann's family indicated they plan to eventually take down her Facebook page. Maybe here is a good place for everyone to post your favorite pictures and memories of Ann?

Here's a little blog I wrote after spending time with Ann in San Francisco in 2013. Napa Valley
I was shocked when I heard the news of Ann's passing. Such a lovely, smart, witty person. She will be missed but not forgotten.
