Permalink 1964 Fender Princeton - Tuxedo 6G2 Amp

New Topic

Selling my '64 Fender Princeton. This is the Brownface 6G2 circuit in Blackface cosmetics and cream knobs - affectionately known as the Tuxedo amps. 6G2s don't come up for sale often in any form, let alone this transitional variety that's rare as hen's teeth.

Incredible tone, with one of the best tremolo sounds ever! Makes the Blackface trem sound like a crude on/off switch. Warm cleans, excellent overdrive and a great mic for rehearsal, recording or gigging.

Overall the amp's in great shape for a 50+ year piece. Cosmetics are good, with no major issues to speak of. It has also been serviced with a grounded 3-prong cord and a conservative cap job - The electrolytics have been replaced and the filters have been updated in a way that keeps the original cap-can assembly in place.

Speaker is a vintage Jensen C12Q that dates to 1965, so it may not have been original to the amp but is right in line with this era and is an excellent sonic match.

TRADED

Would be willing to trade for any of the following + Cash:
-- BF Champ
-- Vintage Supro or Valco
-- Vintage47 Amps combo
-- Swart 6V6se
