"Five singers, one drummer. No guitars, no bass, no keyboards but nevertheless an unbelievable melodic metal experience."
This has got to be as far from surf music as it gets but any musician should check this out.
One of the singers is Stefan Schmidt, rhythm guitarist for the Razorblades.

"Hero-metal a capella." That really is a trip.
I couldn't quite make it all the way through that video, but pretty interesting nonetheless.

acapella means "in the style of the chapel". that meant without instruments. i know...semantics, really. i dont care for this music. i find it pretty funny actually, but i am impressed at how much the drums add to vocal metal. and yes i have heard other vocal metal music....

Archimedes strikes me as a history or classics major.

I was also thinking of your name being Archimedes after the great "Greek" philosopher/tinkerer. And then knowning the etymology of an Italian word would show that you may have known some Italian which is pretty much required of Classics grad students.

no, sadly i use the name archimedes mainly because it was the name of the owl in disney's sword and the stone. i have just always thought it was a cool sounding. i probably should have just let you think i was cool...

I was wondering what the subliminal message in the backwards bit was..... ....was even tempted to load it into an editor and put it back the right way to see, but couldn't be bothered in the end. Maybe it's 'doobeedoobeedo...'

Watched to their YouTube performance and was pretty impressed although I'm not sure how the "metal" applies from this one song. Pretty interesting presentation and pretty gutsy to try something like that.

Germany should enter this one in next years Eurovison Song Contest, I'm sure they'd win, they have the moves already!
