The Tikinauts is a side band that Drew, Jeff and I from The Revomatics do. This video was shot at Kneever Kneeverland Studio on April 29, 2016 in Milwaukee while recording "The Crusher" by The Atlantics.

Thanks Pete, can't believe I missed this.
I love that song & The Atlantics; definitely a different take but in a kind of Roddenberry original Star-Trekkish kinda way. Very neat!
And your bass playing is stellar as ever.

Oh, I watched this Crusher version.
I had one thought: Why do they play it soooo slowly?
Normally this song is a fast song (especially for the rhythm section).

There's a very simple answer. We want to make the song our own. Most of the time bands just record the song EXACTLY as the original. That can be terribly trite. We intentionally slowed it down to make the song a little different, yet interesting. The Atlantics already have their version. This is ours.

Thanks for answering!

Exactly. If you're playing a cover always try to make it fresh and new.

Great take on a classic! I really like how much the lead 'breathes' at this tempo and doing so while not killing that great Atlantics rolling thunder drums & bass.
