With vinyl finally making it's way back as the main physical form of commercial music there's some really good stuff being re-released by companies like Sundazed, but... are they going to start popping the really rare stuff and how about those bands that got stuck between the end of CD's and resurgence of vinyl. My top five both older and new-ish I'd like to see are-
1. The Ghouls Dracula's Duece ( Gary Usher)
2. Out of Limits (Marketts)
3. The Ventures In Space
4. Sinister Surf ( The Moon-Rays) early 2000's
5. The Ripchords
Anyone got any they'd like to see come back out????

I still buy a lot of vinyl but am not so excited about most of the new vinyl reissues. The great majority of them are digitally mastered which negates the analog purpose of vinyl. The Sundazed issues ambiguously state that they are "sourced" from the original analog masters. That does not mean they are cut from analog masters. -Marty

I was just reading a review on the reissue of It's Monster Surfing Time and the reviewer said it sounded like they took the audio off a YouTube stream.
It's disappointing but this is probably the case for most of these reissues. Just a quick cash grab.

I'm pretty sure the Collectors Choice version on CD sounds like MP3s.
I will always keep the German Bootleg version on cd I have. It sounds way better.

I wonder if anyone is cutting from the analogue masters anymore for reissues?

Oh dear, that is definitely taking it to a new low.

Ah yes, I have that one too. It's a twofer on the Surf label with Ake Aleong and the Nobles. I got that at Chris Ashford's Rukus Store in Santa Monica.

I was just listening to it .... and this is not true, sorry. It is not an audiophile whatever re-release of something that was never superior to it's contemporaries, but it is a good release!

I was just referencing a review I read.
Having said that, I just got my copy yesterday and just put it on right now and it does sound pretty bad.
There's no low end at all and the highs are pretty shrill.
I'm not running an audiophile grade set up myself, but it is a tried and true set up I've used for the last 10 years and it's just not a very good sounding record.
That said, I'm glad to have this unique piece in collection, but it's not a huge upgrade over the MP3s on my phone.
