Permalink Go! The Phantom Surfers Race Against the Tormentos on Vinyl, Does it Exist?

New Topic

I can't find out anywhere if this was released on vinyl. Please someone in the know knowledge me. And then lead me to the place where it is purchased.

Jeremy

I went to purchase the mp3 version and they sold only the Tormentos half of it! You can't do THAT on vinyl!

Squink Out!

Ive never seen it on vinyl. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I found one. That is one GREAT CD!!

According to discogs, there is only 2 CD versions. Printed in 2002 and printed in 2009.

As for the CD, as much as I love the Phantom Surfers, I'd have to admit that the Tormentos won that race. Awesome songs!!!

Yes, I wanted the Phantoms' tunes but only got the Tormentos. Not complaining, but I liked both.
The Tormentos have an awesomely loud sound. Since my hi-fi is all boxed up at present, I listen in my car which has a pretty good Bose system. I find I like to listen to the Tormentos so loud that it actually hurts my ears!
I don't know of any other bands that have such a crashing, reverberating double guitar attack as they do. They push the envelope with both guitars sounding very aggressive, with many clanging overtones that are harsh yet addictive. I would imagine it would be very difficult to record them. Props to the engineer of that album! Are they still playing?

Squink Out!

Funny you ask about this one now. This CD has been filling in the gaps between my iPod and phone during my commute, and I haven't wanted to swap it out in weeks. A worthy vinyl purchase, for sure, but I've never seen one.

Oddly enough, the record isn't listed in the discography on the Phantom Surfers' website, even though it has two pictures of the album cover riht next to the list...

I saw the Tormentos a few years ago, when they were touring Germany, and also talke a little to them after their set. Really good live band and really nice people. I somewhat regret that I only had cash for one of the albums since I could hardly decide between "Go!" and "Grab your Board!" (which I bought in the end).

They still seem to be active. Smile

I think it was only released on CD.
