Ah, thanks. I don't do FB & it's in Russian anyway. So I was going to ask you "who's who?" (Enjoyed the little dip in Halfway to Marseille grabbing the upper bout of the guitar.)

Many thanks guys!
I'm really happy you liked our music, sent the link to my bandmates and they are happy too Smile

To be honest, we were never pretending to be a 'true' surf band that plays classic surf music as many people could expect when see the word 'surf' in the description.
We are rather positioning our band as "light instrumental music" that based on simple but easy to remember melodies. And of course, surf music also inspiring us during our work on the arrangements.

I also glad you like the overall sound, we were working really hard to make it good.
By the way, we tried to use the maximum analogue process during the recording of our last album so we used a 24-track Studer tape recorder and analog effects on our guitars and minimum overdubbing, however, mixing was still performed digitally followed by analogue mastering as it is very expensive to do completely analogue mixing.

Welcome, is the surf/instro thing catching on in Russia?
It seems so looking at it from here.
or is it just a small handful of people?

Well, it could be better I'd say.
There are not so many active surf/surf-rock bands left in Russia now, a significant part of the remaining bands are playing mostly covers, not their own original material.
Lyrics is still very important thing here if you wanna be popular but recently the things are slightly changing - some new and interesting bands playing surf/instrumental music appears, again, the vogue of "retro-style" and retro sound is seems to be back.
We also hope to be heared outside of Russia where the surf scene is more strong, so we are planning to try to take a part in some European surf festivals and send our music to the dedicated broadcasting resources such as North Sea Surf Radio Cool

In sum, that's good news. Thanks for the assessment. Your music has a mixture of influences that come together very nicely.

It would be great to click on NSSR and hear you guys! Also, don't forget to put a "pin" in the site's Band Map (link on the left side of the screen).

You mentioned you're playing rhythm on the Tele, who are the other band members in the photo above?
Cool

Done!

You mentioned you're playing rhythm on the Tele, who are the other band members in the photo above?

Yeah, I mainly play rhythm and supporting parts, but sometimes I have an opportunity to play some solo pieces Cool
As for my bandmates, they are very nice guys:
- Vitaliy, the lead guitarist and the band leader/founder who is composing the most part of the material, he is writing the main melodies and theme pieces which later turning to a finished composition
- Vasiliy, the bass player, former metal drummer (quite successfull btw) who always wanted to play the music like surf
- Sergey, the drum player, the only professional musician in our band, he graduated from the Institute of Arts and plays drums in several bands and also works as the session drummer

One more funny thing about our band is that nobody from our band played surf or surf-like music before, everybody played different music in different bands - I used to play pop-rock and funk, Vitaliy, the lead guitarist, used to play punk and pop-punk, Vasiliy, the bass player, as I mentioned before, played drums in a metalcore band, Sergey, the drummer, also played many different kinds of music but surf (metal, thrash, folk and jazz) so what we are doing together is some kind of experimental search in a particular direction, like you said, "a mixture of influences", the right word Yes
