Permalink Looking for some song help. Sir Finks- Knights of the Longboard

I'm looking for help figuring out the melody of this song. Please keep in mind that I suck at playing the guitar, so don't laugh too hard.

Also, are some parts recorded with a Baritone and a Bass VI?? Alternate tuning??

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

I learned this one a while back.

From memory it starts in the key of Gm and later goes down to Em. I played it in standard tuning.

Trying to remember... melody is mostly Gm arpeggio (G Bb D). Eb pops up a bit then goes down the Gm arpeggio. The end of the melody starts on F then goes to G# then... don't remember. I can figure it out again over the weekend.

The second verse is the same thing but played in Em.

So just shift your hand down to E (0 fret instead of 3rd fret).
The ending of the second verse uses the same ending as the first
verse (the Fm part that starts on the first fret).
The second verse is like the other two but is played in
Dm (same deal but start the patterns on the D note (5 fret on the
A string).

There are two little transition riffs. I had trouble

getting them to display right. The first one is the E major
chords. The second goes from a D power chord arpeggio to Eb
power chord arpeggio.

About the songs right hand rhythm.
I would start by just learning the notes as simple

as possible as I've written them out. Then I would learn it
with eight note palm muting. Then I would work my way up
to that rhythm in the song.

It's essentially eight notes palm muting with the

occasional extra note stuck in between eight notes.

If this is eight notes
X - X - X - X - X - X - X - X -

The is with the addition notes (lower case x's are upstrokes)
You can do variations and once you get the hang

of it you'll probably vary it without even thinking.

X - X x X - X - X - X - X x X x

or
X - X x X - X - X x X - X - X -

or
X - X x X - X x X x X - X - X -
or
X - X x X - X - X x X x X - X -

Hope that helps!

I made an attempt at formatting the above post. The secret is to wrapping the tab sections in "code blocks" which display in a non-proportional font.
