In my morning hours I play a lot of music for kids, and just recorded my second album of such. It isn't surf, though it does have some surfy elements (could be the only kid music record recorded this year with an outboard tank?)
Here's the bandcamp link if you'd like to hear it.
if you'd like to buy it, I'm doing an SG101 special: $10 shipped in US (everywhere else add $4). you can paypal me at matt (at) mattandshannonheaton.com

The planet money thing was hilarious. they posted a tweet saying "what do you want to ask us?" and I responded, "Can I borrow $20?" they thought it was funny, so they tracked me down and did the interview. they swear they are sending $20, and when it comes, I'm going to buy a notebook and pens and write a bunch of songs about money, which I will try to sell on bandcamp to make the investment pay off!
we shall see...

I listen to a lot of NPR's Planet Money and it started off with a very quick story from listener Matt Heaton asking "Can I borrow $20". I thought "eh, probably not THAT Matt Heaton" but they return to the story towards the end and say "by the way, Matt Heaton writes kids' music like this song..." and play one of his.

"Don't Drink The Water (Your Butt's Been In)"....Great instructional lyrics Matt! You're right up there with Raffi and Mr. Rogers!
I wish our kids had your tunes when they were young! Great job!

Hey Matt, thanks for the great music! My three year old son and I have been listening and enjoying the heck out of it the past few days.

That sounded great! I find a lot of kids music very unlistenable, but I would definitely let my kids listen to that. Great work.
