I'm posting this for classiccalisurfer. He sent me a .wav file that I converted to mp3 and put in the download section here:

Not sure if anyone can identify this unknown track recorded sometime in the 1960's. I recorded this track from cassette, which was taken from the original 45 rpm record. Unfortunately, the name of the band and the song remain unknown to me. I sent a copy to Phil Dirt, and he was unable to identify it...so if anyone else remembers it, and can name that tune, please give it a go. It's a nice little track, and would a great tune for a modern surf band or bands to play. Good luck as this one may be quite obscure.
Any ideas?

Same here... the lead guitar sounded like The Trashmen to me, but there were other elements that made me think that is definitely not the case.

It sounds similar to a tune called "Poison" by a Kentucky group called the Blazers. I may be way off here, but here is the Youtube link to the song this reminded me of:

It could possibly be the same group.
