Loading into Al's Bar in downtown LA, a homeless man told us that if we paid him 10 bucks, he would watch our van for us. We declined, since all of our equipment would be inside and the van was an old pos anyway (and finances were tight). We did notice that the other band, who was from LA, did pay him. We played, had a fun night, and then came out to load our stuff back in the van and as we approached the back doors, saw a large, fragrant, human turd that had been deposited on our rear bumper! The other band's van did not get the same treatment...

One from my Dad:

His band was playing in a total dive bar section of a dumpy little town in the late 1950s/early 1960s. My Dad was the drummer, and the stage was right in front of a very large window, which his back was facing.

Well, as the show went on his band mates were noticing that the timing was slowly getting worse, to the point of stopping completely every so often.

As it turns out, there was a group of guys fighting out front, and every time one of them flung a guy into the window my Dad was preparing to bolt from the stage because the window was almost shattered from all the bodily impacts.
