Marked as my favorite video of 2016! Hubba, Hubba!

Squink Out!

I showed my wife (a gruzinka) some Messer Chups video and we discussed their style and image. being herself a Soviet Kavkazian and conscious of ethnicity, she tells me Svetlana Nagaeva has a non-Russian surname, probably Ossetian. We find Messer Chups' take on Rockabilly and Surf intriguing on many levels. The intense gender polarity between Zombierella and Guitaracula is rather unique these days and very Russian.

John. Take a look here: http://forebears.io/surnames/nagaeva

From what I remember of a humorous bio I once read about them. In the beginning Svetlana lived in Germany and Oleg Russia. As a pianist she started their working relationship by sending Oleg recordings. But is Svetlana really Annette Schneider?

Whoever Oleg and Svetlana really are, they produce a copious amount of interesting music, and look awful cool doing it. You could never accuse them of being slouches, and the tempos they play are anything but 'laid back'.
I hope they musically influence a new generation of surf & rockabilly here where maybe some of us older folk do not penetrate because we don't look movie-star cool.
There is a lot in their broad catalog of records that could be discussed on many levels. Their creepy artiness is one of the more intriguing thing about them.
