I'm kind of excited now.....my entire time of playing guitar since I was 14 iv used cheapo $5 guitar straps, when I finally pull the trigger in getting a new strap I'm gonna get one of them fancy 30 dollar levy straps some of you guys mentioned. Iv been lookin em up on amazon and they look promising,I can only imagine how much more comfortable something like that will be compared to what I normally use.

I can't say enough good things about these folks as well.
High quality product, made in USA
We provide one the 78040's with each of our guitars we build.

Thanks for that link Jeff, I am going to have to buy one!

The strap companies I like:

Original Fuzz
Souldier
El Dorado

I tend to eschew from non-vintage style straps but I do own quite a few of the 2" straps from Souldier and one from Original Fuzz(which is really quite nice, higher quality than Souldier). I also have a $30 Gretsch vintage style strap that I love, something like a .5" strap with vintage pad.

My guitar tech mate, who often beefs up the guitar sound for Therapy on tour, always says "bridge pick-up over cock, legs spread".

I do most of my practicing sitting down in a chair with my right leg propped up on a stool. I also sort of hunch over my guitar. What this means is that I'm used to playing extremely high, so I keep my strap up higher than almost any other guitarist I see live. It almost ends up looking like I'm playing a toy.

I was told once that your belly button should be above your guitar when playing rock and roll. Basically covering your bits - it helps when you discover you've forgotten to do up your fly and you can cover it with your guitar....

when I was playing punk I wore my guitar lower ...Johnny Ramone rather than Jimmy Page super low ....now I wear them higher; its easier on my left wrist .Different style requires a change
I have longer straps for my Gibsons , a dedicated Dunlop strap for my bass and a Levy's strap for all my Fenders w/Schaller straplocks (been using them since the 80s)...never did like those Dunlop straplocks.

For me it's "high & tight" I'm tall nearly 6'4" with long arms and legs but have a blown out lower back, "low & loose" looks cool but it kills me.

I have been learning 'Baja' which requires muting the B and e strings. I raised my guitar a few days ago to make it easier to keep my palm down there while picking.
