I don't recall where I heard this but long before I got into surf I thought this was pretty cool...
Back in the '80s, I actually saw a video for this tune (Vibrato in the Grotto), on a UHF music video station out of NYC.

See if you can trace a line from this song to the TomorrowMen.

I can't put my finger on any one specific TomorrowMen song at the moment, but that Lester Leaps In tune has a sunny melody and bounce that reminds me of a few T'Men songs. Frankie & the Pool Boys too. New Democracy (T'Men), All Summer in a Day(T'Men), Curse You Fred Haines(T'Men), Skinny Dippin'(F&tPB), Sundial Suite(F&tPB), Monkey Pod(F&tPB) to name a few.
There's probably something more direct that I'm just not thinking of...

Wow Fady . I should have noted that was a rhetorical question. There's no specific song, I was just stating that the Monochrome Set had a profound influence on me.

Here is one for Ralf; ANTHRAX!
Although I like the Johnny Thunders version better (some nice punkrock royalty in this historical & outatune vid, sorry for the violence at the beginning)...

One of my favorite Fuzztones tunes, a great Davie Allan cover:

Like Danny Snyder, i was PROFOUNDLY affected by The Monochrome Set's tunes in the early 80s...this was their absolute surf-iest number, so good you can barely believe that they were not a surf band whatsoever ...

I always liked this song prior to even knowing about Surf Music at all. I think it's a very Surf inspired song, though their fans don't seem to think so!
