My search for vintage Fender tones brought me to this forum. I'd never really thought about surf before I landed here. I didn't know just how alive the genre remains. This new exposure has made me reconsider the music and to appreciate its linear beauty. I've been playing guitar since '67 so you'd think I'd be more aware of surf beyond Dick Dale.

Please recommend some CD's to get me more familiar with surf. Besides early classic recordings I'd also be very interested in hearing contemporary takes, particularly anything that crosses over into areas of jazz or rockabilly.

Thanks!
