Mmmm, tasty!

Maybe if Jon finished his pizza he wouldn't have crapped out after 5 hours of playing! I'm saving it for him for next time.

I had a drummer once who was incapable of stopping at the end of a song. Usually I would leap into the drum set to get his attention. He did have his good points though- walk in cooler in his garage.

Hmmm, you gonna eat that?? Cheers

Enjoying the surf,sun and sand!!

I don't usually get into these things. As long as the drummer doesn't choose to pack his kit up into cases on stage when the next band is trying to set up them I am fine.

Expect the guitar player to pick them and their drums up for the gig.

That typically drives our drummer mad

I will say I'm glad to have a drummer no matter how obnoxious! I always said if I can find a drummer as hyper and obnoxious as me we could have a great surf band.

No doubt. It is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. And these days we have 3 screens and a projector to get set up, along with our instruments and amps, in order to play. So we can't be waiting around for a drummer to get out of the way when it is time for us to set up. We have out set up down to a science. We can get on stage in about 15 minutes and have all of our equipment off stage in about 7-8 minutes.

We played a show back in September where the drummer from the band before us started to lay out his drum cases and meticulously break down each piece. I had to actually go to the leader of the band and request that he ask his drummer to move off stage and pack up out of the way. It was the best thing I could do to avoid conflict and not keep the audience waiting 30-40 minutes for us to play.

Indeed...yet I have seen this happen quite frequently. And I will not even go into detail about how annoying drummers with "rack mounted" kits are to share bills with.

I'll settle for a drummer right now...
and put up with the dumb stuff later
and make sure they get off the stage quick for Noah and gang!

Jeff

Jeff, if this job loss mess ends up being the writing on the wall for The KBK then I will do my best to convince Josh to move up your way and take over drumming responsibilities for you.

Noah,
You know we wish for your success and continuation above all,
but we DO love Josh and his playing, LOL

I started out as a drummer and still play. Oh the list of stupid shit I've done over the years related to playing. There's one story involving our lead singer's STRAT that I will never repeat. I think the bill for the repairs was about $180. And this was in 1979.

I had a drummer that was so annoyed at his bad sense of timing, he threw himself behind a train

That is rich. I'm a drummer and I still get it!
Wait, oh it was behind the train...
ah nuts.

Hey, Congrats on finding a drummer!

Thanks man! Played on and off with the guy since I was 18. He's new to surf but he loves it. Doesn't get yelled at as much to calm down!
