This thread & the whole occasion are wonderful. There are demos, & then there is Lorenzo & Gang playing above. (I'm curious what was in the Quilter's speaker cabinet.)

Thanks Mr. Ambassador for the trip & continuing to share your love of the music with us!

When Lorenzo played at Winter's Tavern I noticed he was plugged straight in, no tank, and heard LOTS of drip. Maybe it was because of how much louder he was playing at that venue? In any case a Pro Block 200 is next on my list of gear to purchase this year.

Yes I have been playing straight into the Pro Block. In songs like the Astronauts' tunes I would have needed a tank of course, but for the rest of my music that reverb is just great. It is definitely more realistic than most pedals. It is a try that I have done in this tour and I liked that... I mean I played almost every time with just that Quilter head.

I too was really impressed with Lorenzo's playing, and Gianni's & JonPaul's of course. I saw SJ at the Purple Orchid and then at the Tonga Hut. I was really impressed by his clean, precise and tireless tremolo picking and tasteful musicality throughout both sets. He managed to get my wife dancing, and that makes me a happy surf fan!

That's good. Dancing is the key of this kid's music since 1961!!! Those places are great, great and again great! I am really thankful I had the chance to be there.

That was a Ran's small cabinet with a JBL D130. Very good for the purpose Smile and sounding fantastic to me with the Quilter head.

This is a recent video of me in Santa Cruz playing some Astronauts songs. It's curious about the great sound I have been getting out of the Quilter Steelaire amps (2 of them joined, one of each side of the drums). No use of any pedal or reverb tank. Did not even have a tuner Smile

Thanks for posting it on YouTube. And thanks Adrian for the amps and the fun night!

Clearly having a good speaker is important - you had one and the results were great! Smile
