What a great crowd at the show last night. Live music (and surf music fans) is alive and well in Halifax, though my fingers are sore from playing three sets. Yes

Very cool!
Those Canada day crowds can be huge.
How was the earlier Surf Kings gig?

Cheers,
Jeff

Start singing, then it's an automatic bump up.

A shot from today's noon time show. The crowd was over 200.

We played at Grand Parade Square in front of city hall in Halifax. It's a free summer event, Tunes at Noon, put on by the Downtown Businesses that books local acts to play between 12 & 1pm. We have played this for many years, but today was the biggest crowd yet for the organization. It was a great day.

USK's Holiday Twist Party

Friday, December 8, 2017
Bearly's House of Blues & Ribs

Shine up your dancin' shoes, and call your pals because Urban Surf Kings are back at Bearly's for a night of surf & roll. Get ready for some serious dancing fun, and a handful of surfed up Holiday faves. USK's classic Christmas ep, Snowman Rumble, will be available for purchase at the show. This makes a great gift for you friends, families, or yourself!

A word from the Left Coast...Rev, thanks for keeping up the thread with your show announcements. I am happy to know that you get out and do shows in the hub of the Maritimes.

Only been out there for a week on business near Bayers Rd about 10 yrs ago and stayed nearby to the touristy wharf place. Unfortunately, my long days at the office prevented me from getting out to see any local gigs.
I went out for a brisk walk one evening around the Citadel mount (it is a national monument, after all) and my colleagues the next morning said "You went THERE at night?!?!?!?!?!?". Apparently it has a reputation that - to this day - I am not sure I understand. Perhaps it's best if I stay naïve. I had a single earbud in one ear as I was listening to my mp3 player...perhaps the folks that passed me thought I was an plainclothes officer and I was left alone.

Anyhoo, that's my funny story. Wink

Citadel Hill at night may have been seedy back in the 80/90s, but really hasn't been an issue in several decades. Some have held on to the old reputation for many more years than the place was actually sketchy. If it was 10 or so years ago you certainly were fine to be there. Funny how reputations can linger.

Rev,
Have a great Holiday Party!
I recently received some news and I may be back in your beautiful city again in later 2018 and I may be there for a few days with downtime.
Could be another chance to collaborate......

Cheers,
Jeff
