Permalink Who were Morgus and the Daringers?

New Topic

Somebody on reddit posted that they've never been able to figure out who played in the Daringers for the Halloween favorite "The Morgus Creep"

https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/3ceblf/morgus_and_the_daringers_or_the_greatest_surf/

I never thought to ask this myself, which is surprising considering it's one of the few intersections of surf instro and New Orleans culture. Morgus had a number of other singles recorded in New Orleans, but they're much different and include artists like Frankie Ford and Mac Rebennack. This one seems to be recorded in Detroit.

I don't really have anything to go on here, anybody else?

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

A pretty good guess being that this recording is from Detroit is that he got a local garage band to do the backing track. Cool stuff
