HulaHounds guitarist/saxophonist/songwriter Tommy G just put this video together of a Blue Angels practice session near their home base in Pensacola, using an original surf song "Ride N High" we recently recorded as the background music. Hope you like it. I'm on bass on this one.

HulaHounds is a side project I started back in 1996. A guitarist friend and I started it as a power surf jam duo, later on we played a few local gigs and we recorded a 13 song CD "Release the Hounds" in 2003. The last track was an instro version of Billy Idol's "White Wedding" that got a fair amount of airplay on KCR and KJFC. Unfortunately, the band became dormant after my friend's wife had a baby, so that was the end of version one.

The past several months I had been working on some new material to record a new HulaHounds CD when I was approached by long-time guitarist friend Tom Ladshaw (brother of Surge! drummer John Ladshaw) with whom I had played in a cover band back in the '70's. Tom's music moniker is "Tommy G". Tom asked me to lay down some bass tracks for an album project he is working on, and one of the songs happened to be this one. Long story short, the HulaHounds were reborn as a Trio with Tom on guitar, Frank Austin on drums and me on bass.

We'll see how HulaHounds version 2.0 develops. Hope you like the video!

Cool video Woody. The jet noise works with the song. Hope to hear more!

Yeah!
The tune really goes well with the jet action.
More HulaHounds!

Cheers,
Jeff
