Stumbled on this on YouTube, and just watched the first 15 minutes. I have it on a VHS tape somewhere, but it's been many years since I've seen it. I forgot how nice it actually is! Hank shows himself to be a true gentleman, and reveals many of the tricks of his trade. A very nice intro to the Sound of the Shadows, I highly recommend it!

Now I know what I'll be doing for the next hour! Watch an awesome video of Hank Marvin in hopes of getting a better player, instead of practicing

I've had that one bookmarked for awhile & it gets regular viewing. Thanks Ivan for sharing for others. He remains an object lesson in how to be a class act as a person.

Ivan,
Nice insight into Hank's technique. I have tab books of the Shadows as well as videos of Shads music from other players. This video follows the tabs I have fairly accurately. The added "tricks" with echo, whammy bar, muting etc. aren't the tab books. So it's a nice compliment to the tab books
So - I'm (re)experimenting with the Korg and Roland Space echos(new and old) and having fun.
I expect an edgier sound with a Mosrite over a Strat - but that's kinda what I like.
great post.. thanks

Great video Ivan!
I'v seen it on YouTube before but only small parts of it.
Wounder if there is something similar with DD. . . .
(By the way, I find it interesting that Hank is using 2 pivot bridge with modern saddles, 31:06)
Cheers,
Mark.
