Nice instrumental version (and welcome to the site!)

One persons opinion... Nice use of tremolo and clean & jangly tones by comparison to the original. Could stand some prominent reverb on the lead to push it from instrumental to surfy, if'n that's even something you're wanting to go for.

Regardless, great first post being about some music you've created and shared!

This was a dry mix. In the mixing, I added reverb to the lead guitar, but not a lot because then the tremolo effect got lost. Other tracks on the CD are drenched in it, some not so much. Thanks for listening and the kind words!

Thanks! I shan't be making any more "videos" to post, but the rest of the tunes can be heard at... http://www.jango.com/music/Surfana?l=0

Welcome to SG101!

The guitar is not in tune for my ears.
Is this your intention to play detuned? Then it`s okay.

And, sorry, but for me this "Nirvana played in surf sound" concept is a bit unoriginal...
And you are playing it with a Strat? Oh, I see Kurt turning around somewhere...

What about Jagstang?

And sorry again, but I have one question in my head: What are you doing when you`ve played all Nirvana songs? Smile

Twang cheers!

I've been listening to Surfana's "Whatever" for a couple weeks. One thing I like about hearing these songs done in a surf style is that it highlights the awesome melodies. If the songs were done instrumentally, but in a grunge style, it wouldn't be the same. I know that the Aqua Velvets, the Bikini Beach Band and the Retroliners did covers of Smells Like Teen Spirit, but I didn't really get a sense of the many great Nirvana melodies from those isolated covers.
