Permalink Crazy Aces Collaboration Series

New Topic

Late 2014 and early 2015 has Crazy Aces regrouping a bit. Some new members and new music. To keep making music until we were whole again we decided to collaborate with some friends from SG101 and the Surf/Instro circuit.
Well I'm happy to say that this concept had taken on a life of it's own and really fun opportunities keep presenting themselves without a lot of effort.

It started with Rev Hank and Lorenzo, then Chad shivers and now we are completing a tune with Tom and Dave from the AmpFibians. We also have Ed Katcher on board and a while back I asked Mike, Man From Ravcon so hopefully you're still in Mike.....

There is more material that we feel would be well suited to many of our other friends so if we call hopefully you'll answer.
We haven't decided yet if all songs will be released as singles, an EP or full length. We'll probably know more soon as we can grasp the scope of the project.
So far it's been a blast and makes us even more thankful for the friendships we've built through this music.
I'll continue to post here as we move along.

Here's a shot from this past weekend with the AmpFibians. Man, this cut has a groovy feel!

Isn't Ted (SPSkins) in Nashville now? You ought to collaborate with him on something as well if possible. Looking forward to the results of these sessions. Cheers.

I didn't know that!
We'll have to look into it.
Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Jeff

Actually, my mistake, looks like Memphis. Same state anyways.
Good luck.

When you make it up to Halifx, maybe we can collaborate in person.
Will you be releasing this as an album, or as singles?

Mike,
I remember mentioning this to you forever ago and everything else has gotten in the way but I have quite a bit of the track I'd like you to play on, add to, started already and as soon as I can get to it I'll send you the idea, see what you think. I've been saving this one for you for a while now.

Jeff

THAT would be really cool, I'd love that.
I'll keep you posted on that tour as soon as I get a confirm.
I'd love to release this as a full length record but finances could be tough to figure out, unless one of the Surf/Instro labels wanted to put it out. Otherwise maybe sporadic singles........EP, .........??

Jeff

Tom and I took a drive to the Music City to join in on this sweet opportunity with Jeff and Alex and things couldn't have gone smoother..We had a blast!! Jeff sent us the song to work on ahead of time..I checked my play counter and had listened and practiced to it over 40 times..I didn't want to blow it!

It was our first time meeting Alex the new bass player. A great guy with great chops and feel, and of course Jeff who has infectious positive energy. The song is super catchy, the recording was painless with very few corrections and everybody felt real good when we were finished. I can't wait to hear the finished version..our working copy is killer! I also can't wait to hear the entire compilation. What a great idea.

After we said our goodbys we headed downtown and experienced the wrath of Broadway for the rest of the evening. Honky tonks, crowded streets..That town buzzes like no other.

Going to Nashville to record could be considered a bucket list item for most musicians, but even if you don't, you gotta go there to believe it.
