I simply can't believe how many surf radio shows there are now compared to 10 years ago. So many that I can't keep track of them. If you host a radio show that plays at a certain time, please post your show name, link, and time information (or a link to that information). Why? Well for one thing I will add that information to our Calendar. This will at least be a good first step to see when shows are playing.
But taking this info further... I'd like to build a little database of this information and generate some notifications. A few ideas come to mind:
- Tweet reminders about shows starting soon.
- Put a banner of upcoming shows and now playing shows in the header of the site.
- Maybe make the bot in the chat room announce the same information
I think Jake suggested doing something like this a while back. My plate is full with converting to https but I'd like to start this soon.
Thanks!
And P.S. Please please please state the time zone for your show when you post here.

This is great as then we can also schedule to avoid clashes. It's great to offer hosted shows in different time zones to appeal to different people.
I suggest posting times in local time and GMT as it can be really confusing calculating times in other parts of the world.

Please post:
- Name of show
- Link to stream or info on stream (if applicable)
- Terrestrial radio info (if applicable)
- Show time information (what time, what days) - include timezone.
- Blurb about the show (optional)
If you have a link to all this information already (and why don't you?) you can drop that here also.
Once I get the shows on our calendar in the right time zone it should be very easy to see what is playing when.

Putting this info in the SG101 Calendar is a great idea Brian. Personally I'm subscribed to 11 of my favorite shows which are pre-programmed to record but that app depends on the Mac's iCal, so I don't have to consciously seek out each show when they air. But knowing where to look for other surf shows would be really cool.
Perhaps if the DJs could also post in the Blurb where the show's playlist is located whether it's in the station's website or a separate site like radioactivity.fm or a post on SG101, that extra effort is greatly appreciated too! (at least by me )

Blurb about the show:
The Rockin' & Surfin' show has been on the air for over 33 years in June it will be 34 years! I do the show every other week and Rock-it Rick does it on the other weeks. When I do the show it is almost exclusively Instrumental Surf. Rick will throw in occasional vocals and some other stuff with the instrumental surf. I am always looking for new music to play on the show. If you hear or see a band that is really great let me know so I can find out about them.
Thanks
Guy

Great idea to list these shows!
It would be really helpful to also provide a link to any associated podcasts or playlists that we could download when we cannot listen live. -Dick

I was thinking about this also, but you're one step beyond Brian!
As you said lots of shows in these days, everybody need to know about all of them and choose their favorite voice & taste.

Everyone who has replied to this point has been added to the calendar. Please keep them coming.
Edit: make sure you have your time zone set in your user profile when you view the calendar. It will all make sense then.

I should have mentioned that archives of shows are on our website for 2 weeks after broadcast. These links are mp3 that can be streaming or downloaded.
Look for Cousin Mary (or my sub) 8-9pm Saturday on this page

Thanks Jeff that will help a lot. I just hope the schedule doesn't change often as that is a lot of shows to update. But that's a good problem to have.

Note my show is supposed to come on at 12 noon, pacific time.
But it comes on at 1 pm, as our Daylight Saving Time has changed
Early, and the rest of the world will switch later in April.

I think if I I can get the time zone on the calendar to be in CET then that should all be taken care off. Stupid daylight savings time!
