This was really cool - thanks so much for posting, Doug. I quite like both CDs by the Break. Pretty different, but imaginative and well executed. Too bad they don't seem to get a whole lot of attention around here.

I'll have to go dust off their sophomore release, Space Farm. I remember the great anticipation I had when I ordered my copy from Red Eye Records from down under, and then the let down I felt when I spun it for the first time. Maybe it was just a time/place thing. Let's see...

I felt the exact same way, but I really should give it some more time and see what happens. That first release is just so good!

I still have not purchased Space Farm but will do so very soon. I saw Midnight Oil several times, they were always excellent, the most exciting live band I ever saw and they sounded better live than on record. It usually took a few listenings to develop a love for each new record. They started getting more popular after Beds Are Burning and their music softened a bit. The Break reminds me more of the early ass kicking Oils.
