I was checking if M3 California's website has some news and I was surprised by the fact that they stopped crafting Mosrite style guitars, maybe they got in trouble with the Mosrite company. Anyway, seems there are now just focusing in guitar pickups and electronics.
They have a Jazzmaster <--> Mosrite pickup that is interesting.

I have 2 of their 'Mosrite' style PUs in my Aria Diamond. Not sure if it is the poor guitar or the PUs, but while they improved the overall sound of the guitar it still doesn't sound good at all. No need to get those PUs IMO as long as Ed Elliott and Hallmark is around. But that's just me, YMMV.
IIRC someone on this forum ordered a custom made Mosrite clone from M3 and was really excited about it. It took over a year until he got it and 3 weeks after he received it, it was on the bay for sale. Don't know what happened there and you can only speculate, but it sounds...well...you know.

Thanks for the input Killian ... I came across with this manufacturer because of The Nebulas, those custom guitars captured my attention. Also the sound demo that Mel Waldorf did ... sounds good to me. I was just wondering if anyone have this pickups in a Jazzmaster. In a scale of quality ... which is your top between ...

i have a pairs in mosrite of burgundia
sound is really nice i think ,totally mosritysh ,but this pups are realy powerfull and it cranks some amps ,on my deluxe i have a clean sound that i don't have on my AC4
i haven't compare them to others manufacture but for me in term of price ,sound they were nice pups
for information i have the vintage ones the RH100 i think ,if i have to reorder i will order the coil tapped one ,cause with the 7 k option i think they sound more jazzmasterish and will be more to my taste (i am a jazzmaster guy )

I personally really, really like the RH-100's I have in my mosrite, definitely more than the ones that came from Kurokumo at least (though I had Matt step down the resistance from 13k ohms to around 11k, a bit more traditional-sounding to my ears). I ended up not getting the "Dual Tone" option, figuring if I want a JM sound, I'll get a JM, but a 11k step down to around 6.8k on the same guitar sounds intriguing. (That would be a special request though, which he does do.)

hi!
i ordered a pair of them, but i waited only two weeks. not the faintest idea how close it is to a mosrite, but the neck RH-90 in the neck of my firebird delivers an excellent tone. in the bridge position, it was too harsh for me ...

I tried to order a set of RH-100 for my Wilson brothers VM65 a while back.
After a week with no confirmation of the order i got in contact with M3, and was told the website was run by the son who did not have a lot of time or involvement in it anymore. After a week or two more with no clear answer or ETA from them i asked to have the money refunded.
Overall i was not left with a professional impression of their operation, and their attitude which basically was "you can get the pickups whenever we feel like it. Be it a year from now or at the end of time, or you can f. right off!"
Reading the other reviews here of the RH100 I'm glad I dodged that bullet.

Let me put it this way: stay away from everything that isn't Semie's or Bob's product, if you want a satisfying guitar. All those cheap clones are nice guitars for noodling around at home, but as soon as you get to play them in a band situation you will notice the difference between a real Mosrite (and Hallmark) and a cheap clone. And those expensive overpriced Ed Roman/Dana Moseley guitars are just wallhangers for lawyers, doctors, etc. to show off. They are not worth the money. Just my 2 cents, but I've been through a couple of clones.

That's a good overview, I think you're right about the cheap and pricey guitars. I have tried Eastwood Sidejack and Wilson Bros. and didm`t like them ... I need to try a real Mosrite or a Hallmark.
So .. No Jazzmaster players with this pickups in their guitar?

so This EF ELLIOTE Mosrite clone, in the hands of EL TWANG from ELRAY isnt worthy of touring on many different continents, in possibly one of the most soulfull surf band on the green earth? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that there may be more guitars out there that might just kick major booty  Ed Elliote makes some cool stuff

Nah, I simply forgot about them  It's hard to keep track of all the clones out there. Also I don't have first hand experience with those Elliots, so there's not much I can say about it, except that it sounds good on the El Ray recordings. I do suppose that they are good guitars and really close to the 'real deal' though.

the "real" deal has become skewed over time though especially in todays market. I was a die hard fender strat guy for most of my life but at one point I started realizing that there were too many generalizations in the build of the instrument. The guitars became pre-chewed lasagna for the masses. Beautiful things still come from my beloved Fender factory but not what really moves me or works for me and my single pot Irish whiskey taste on a craftbeer budget. Small builders are now able to
give us guitars with a custom shop craftsmanship and a choice of very good components and we dont have to sell our car to buy one.

PS. I finally put the neck on the stupid guitar. These pickups are a real nice match for swamp ash. I dont like icepicky guitars and I wanted strat scale on this Tikimaster (it will be getting a B-5 soon) so the sound is very rich across the spectrum with great string separation on chords with the tank and overdrive.
