At a Royal Aces gig last week, SG101 member Gavin Ehringer once again brought examples of his handiwork, and asked me to play them, so that he could hear them in action in a full band setting. It was a pure joy to hold, play, and hear these two beauties - I can describe them as being of custom shop quality. If any SG101 members would like to contact Gavin about his custom builds, his information is: 619-888-9903, gavinehringer@earthlink.net
(I have no business connection with Gavin, and do not benefit in any way from his guitar sales - I'm just passing along his information to the surf community!)

Thanks John. It was fun hanging out with the Royal Aces, and the guitars sounded great through your vintage gear. Here are some more detailed pics of the guitars.

That turquoise and cream one on the right looks mighty interesting. What kind of trem is on there?

Those are beautiful. I'd prefer a jag/jm trem and pup switch placement, but otherwise they look perfect!

Beautiful guitars. Do you have to use sex wax to care for them!

Totally hot. What are they called? Jagrat & Stratmaster? Stratuar & Jazzcaster?

FYI They're called Pipeline Surf Guitars...the yellow one is Betty, the woody is Sheila. (An insider's joke form the surfing world). Both use Vintage Reissue Fender pickups and Fender Strat-style tremelos with milled, weighted term blocks for stability and tone.
Both are sprayed with six color coats of nitrocellulose lacquer and 15 to 20 hand-rubbed clear coats.
And yes, SEX WAX is the recommended care product!
