Hi - I've put a little band together and occasionally my love of the twang finds its way through my speakers. I've already posted my composition Chill Twang Boogie and got lots of really nice comments, please stoke the fires of my vanity and let me know what you think of Jim https://soundcloud.com/aliconnor/jim and if you really want to swell my already large head by getting me hits on my soundcloud page, take a listen to Chill Twang Boogie. I will also listen and comment on any tracks you ask me to. Ali - Lead Guitar, The Daytonas

Wow! I listened to the song "Jim". This is a great tune imo!!! Very cool drive!
I like the part at 2:22 when it sounds like the end, but then it rolls into another guitar solo.
"Shaking" is similar cool!
And, yes, the vocals on "Jim" also remind me to Danzig.
No surf definitely, but great music for my ears!
More!!!
Go Go!!!!!
— Twang cheers!

That's really cool. Love the instrumentation. Vocals almost sound Glenn Danzig.
Thanks for the kind words, I'll pass the Danzig comment onto Craig our singer and hope he's a fan

Thank you. That's the best response I've ever had! If there ever is an album you get the signed coloured vinyl version. I will have to listen to yours - my girlfriend is asleep next to me as I type so that will happen in the morning, can't wait

Glad you liked it. Is your radio show available online? I would love it if you did play it. Just looked at your website, those photos... Looks a really beautiful to be near the sea

Awesome tune. Love the guitar lead. Found the vocals to be Danzigesque with a dash of Jim Morrison here and there. Did I mention I liked the guitar!

Surf? No. Surf inspired? For sure. It definitely has some surf-y textures. I've heard music like this called "Desert Rock" haha. Gives me a kind of natural born killers vibe.
It's good nonetheless. Honestly, good on you for not writing within the confines of a genre. Take your inspirations and make your own way, I say.
Also, good lead guitar work.

To be fair, most surf rock isn't recorded while surfing.
...most.

well,
found a reason to definitely join SoundCloud now. Added the app to my phone as well. I also commented on this song there, but for everyone here, this is what I said there:
"I don't necessarily call this "surf rock" but a beautiful combination of classic rock, surf, rockabilly, even some country in there... and of course a huge sound of Jim Morrison in those vocals. It's EPIC. I'd like to call it: Greasemonkey, as its genre. Something Sam and Dean would easily listen to in their Impala on "Supernatural.""
honestly, LOVE it. That's pretty much the style of sound I'm wanting myself. Something that combines the very best of all genres from Jazz, Blues, Country, and Rock... into something special. And I do think this is special. Amazing vocals.
is it specifically "Surf" though? I'd leave that to the experts, but to me, there are definite elements in it at the least.
any chance of getting the lyrics? Not going to lie, I need this in my ipod
