Jazzmaster
Reserve not met at $771...Oh well, if I had $800 laying around I would have made a few bids.

It looks like he wanted the $1000.00 for it. To bad.
I'd just as soon save up some more money and get a new one anyways.

Yeah... Folks always seem to assume that if they had bid $1 more than the winning bid they would have won it, or that the reserve was just a couple bucks more than was bid. You never know how high the winners high bid would have gone. I've bid stupid amounts, way over going price for things, amounts that only nostalgia could explain, only to find that someone else wanted it WAY more than me. I've kinda been lucky that I've never won one of those things

Yeah I dunno I was watching that thing all week and thier was only like 2 bidders. The 'buy it now' was 1,000, (w/ free shipping btw)I bet the reserve was around 800. Thats how I got my Jaguar, 2 bidders; me and some random music store. The starting bid was 750 and I got it for 780.
Keep in mind these things are 1400 new.
You never know thats all Im saying....I bet it will be relisted.

I paid $900 for my AVRI JM (Ocean Turquoise) on e-bay, seemed like a fair price.

900 is a GREAT price if in good condition. The mean ebay price for Jags and JM's is about 1000. It took me several weeks to get my Jag for 925 on ebay. And Casey, if it was a sunburst you would not have scored it for 900, they are more valuable to the market.

Yeah, $1000 is the going price. I got my Jazzmaster in sunburst for $950 which included a buzzstop, and a brand new in package Fender tort pickguard. the guy had left a guitar cord in the case and there were some black marks on it (which he failed to mention). Those polished right out with some gibson polish, which has some lacquer in it. I've found over the years it can really work miracles on lacquer finishes.
My Jag was a little more, but I figured it was worth it as it was brand new from an instrument dealer who wasn't a Fender dealer but traded stock with a fender dealer. The risk involved was there was no warranty since he wasn't a fender dealer, but then again neither do used instruments have a warranty. Sorry to all those who buy things off ebay with warranty cards, but try getting service without a receipt in your name . but I figured nobody had F-ed with it, it was well within the used prices, and it was EXACTLY the color I wanted. Showed up absolutely untouched all the tags still on, plastic on the pickguard. Couldn't be happier.

Yup...anywhere from $850 - $1K shipped is what I've been finding for the AVRIs: Sea Foam JM, Black JM, Sunburst Jag, Olympic White Jag...the black JM for $850 had some wear, but is the best playing of the bunch.
