I have a mint DenTone Fuzzrite clone made to its exact specs. It really nails that sound! I'd be willing to part with it for $70 plus shipping to the US lower 48. You can see it here:

Thanks for the kind words Jeff, that means a lot coming from you, because I really enjoy your music as well!!

I've built "exact" Fuzzrite clones, and they don't really nail the sound I'm looking for when I hear the old trebley buzzy-bee type fuzz sounds. The problem with fuzzes like that, is that they can sound drastically different depending on what guitar or amp you're using...or what else you have in your pedal chain.

That's where (I'll say it again) the Mastotron is a really cool pedal. It's frustrating to play with it live, as there are SOOOOO many settings and it takes a couple of minutes to really dial it in, but you can nail most Fuzz tones convincingly with it and it can be made so that the notes "crap out" and fizzle like a broken sounding 60's fuzz. I have no connection w/ ZVEX or anything...in fact it's the only pedal by that company that I own, but I can wholeheartedly endorse it. It's by far "THE" most versatile fuzz pedal that I own, and I have a few.

No,
That's pretty damn cool! Can you show us the guts or are they secret?
Does it run best on old-style carbon 9V batteries? I found my Rangemaster and Colorsound Tone Bender clones sound horrid with anything else.

Right now I am digging my Smitty Maelstrom (Maestro FZ-1A clone) for lo-gain fuzztones. Is the Fuzzrite significantly gainier?
