Hey SURFmole,
I'm glad you are enjoying the release. A lot of people seem to like the vinyl plus bonus bandcamp track medium we used for this one. Thanks for your support!

Well...I was disapointed to get your record in the mail (at first, I thought it was our test pressings) Ha Ha!! Musicol says the test pressings are (hopefully) going out the first of next week. We're shooting for having records in-hand to ship out by the second week of December if the test pressing is good. If we know we're good-to-go we will probably announce the Holiday split single (us and another band w/ us on the B side) on Thanksgiving and sell advance copies with instant Bandcamp high-res download. Our other projects (9 original songs split between 2 7" EPs) have been sent out for mastering and we're just waiting on the masters before we send those off to Musicol for vinyl mastering and pressing. I'm pretty sure we're looking at an early 2015 release date for both of those...the artwork for the second EP hasn't been started. Really, what we should probably do for our release is to copy your format and release it as a 4 or 5 song 7" EP on vinyl with the remainder of the tunes as a digital download. It would be easier, less expensive, and get the songs out quicker than doing two separate EPs or one 12" vinyl release. — |

Good luck with projects, and don't sweat it if they aren't on time. That's out of your control. Rev —Canadian Surf |

From nice words from Double Crown (now in stock): Urban Surf Kings, a great surf/instro band from the far reaches of Canada, have always championed the vinyl format, so it's no surprise to find that their latest release is a 4 song vinyl 7". It's got four of their best recordings to date, tucked into a cool, humorous 7" sleeve. What makes this especially cool is that you get a download code for not only the four songs on the 7" - you also get four bonus songs! What a deal! Rev —Canadian Surf |

Finally getting around to listening to this. I'm enjoying it a lot. I especially like Quick Draw Norman with it's spaghetti western nods. I'm digging the guitar tones also. The guitar has a nice "just barely" gritty and biting sound to it while still sounding very open and clear. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Here's another review for Urban Surf Kings release Penguin or Robot? from the fine people at Blue Suede News. We've got a 4 song 45, but it came with digital download for 8 tracks, not certain if they all do or that was special to Blue Suede News . Surely they'll let you know when you order(all 45s come with the download)! Anyhow, fine Surf music - not sure how the surfing is in Halifax, NS, but the music is great! The 4 songs on the EP are the title song, "Agent 6K6", Quick Draw Norman", and "Last Chance for Clams". The remaining songs in the download are "Trans Ural Express", Snow Day" (they've had quite a few up there just lately!), and Surf Monkey (NOT Freddie King's) though you also get a longer version of "Quick Draw Norman". Fans of reverb drenched guitar could hardly be disappointed with any of these tracks. The band is highly decorated (film festival awards and nominations, rave reviews, etc.) and fairly successful in placing songs in films and TV as well. I like it all very much! - MB —Canadian Surf |

Pipeline Instrumental Review, Spring 2015 issue 97 Canada's Urban Surf Kings are led by Mike Diabo and this is their 12th release. The EP comes with a code to enable you to download the four tracks plus four more as listed above. The title track sets the style as it races away with its classy reverb twang, saying it all in a punchy and engaging two minutes. Agent 6K6 is similarly concise if less attractive, but Quick Draw Norman is more descriptive and all the better for it, a fine western-tinged theme, while Last Chance for Clams is a very pleasant traditional surfer. The download only tracks don't have such a rich sound apart from the unedited 4.5 minute version of Quick Draw Norman which fully justifies its presence as the USKs extemporize on the theme - Alana Taylor —Canadian Surf |
