Hello all. My name is Ivan, and I am a Gearoholic. Today is exactly a year since I purchased my last piece of gear - in the past 12 months I have not purchased a single guitar, amp or even a pedal. My life has gotten considerably better as a result. (Well, certainly my bank account as well as the relationship with my wife.) With the Good Lord's help, I hope to be able to say this again a year from now.

Hello from Finland..Im Marko and im gearoholic too and also surfaholic...I play the drums and I have twos sets already and sometimes I play guitar too..My wife said that when fourth guitar comes to house, she leaves......

Twang & Bop til You Drop!

Yeah... I've bought four in the past year... But, it was a net decrease in guitars with no money spent that was gained from a sale.

I did go over a year until last year, then I sold a bunch of stuff and bought more with that money. And then I repeated the process again this year.

Hello. My name is Ralf and I am a Gearoholic.
Luckily I do not remember when I purchased my last guitar, amp or pedal… It is not a year… (Ah, I remember a new tuner which I do not really need…) Ah, and I remember a little old Fender Vibrasonic Amp…

I am happy. Today I have sold a guitar!!! (My Fender Custom / Maverick)
(Now there are only 31 guitars left. Or 32?...)
I can not tell you how happy I was to sell a guitar! Nearly the same feeling like when I got a new guitar! This is strange but it is reality.
My girlfriend asked why I am selling this Fender Custom, this nice strange guitar? There are 5 Jaguars, all the same, why not selling one of them?

Twang cheers!

My name is Jeff and I'd like to think that I USED to be a gearolholic.
I fool myself by attempting to approach it casually
My closets are still stuffed with gear but I seldom acquire additional gear
At my worst I was buying and selling almost twenty guitars a year
I try to think about music and music making now, not gear
My wife and friends are enablers
I thought it was a healthy reason to marry her, my friends.....I'm not sure

I'm still not allowed to live within five miles of a guitar store, by law (that's another story)

The good news is that now that I don't buy (or buy less) gear I have more money to support my drug habits

That's all I have to say for today. Thanks for listening

I don't know what this is all about. I don't have a problem, I'm fine. I can stop buying gear anytime I feel like it.......Hey is that a new delay!

Hey ya'll! My name is jeff. I got the GAS bad. Bought a new amp last week and a new guitar today. Help
Due to our moving to a smaller home I am limited to 1 electric, 1 amp and 1 acoustic. No room. Retirement and SS will not cover additional expenditures for new gear. Sorry
OK. I can live with that. Stuff Hits the Fan

Enjoying the surf,sun and sand!!

If my wife keeps winning guitars soon I won't have to deal with GAS at all! image

Jeff, you have something most of truly covet. Time to play! Smile

yep, I knew that!! Time to play guitar, time to take the wife to the beach, time to go eat seafood, time to go fishing, time for alligator watching, time to watch the ladies, time to not shave, yep , I knew that!!! ROTFL

Enjoying the surf,sun and sand!!

This year I've bought 2 amps and 3 guitars. My wife said she'd leave me if I got another one. I got another one but it worked out OK - this one lets me buy as many guitars as I want. —

Fritz, your wife won a White Falcon!?

I've often wondered at the practice of having a bunch of gearaholics get together to talk about their gearaholism. It just leads to more gear talk, which leads to...

I'm a limited gearoholic. I'm at the stage now that I like to build my next piece. That's why I bought a Surfybear kit a few weeks ago. I'm tempted often but reality of storage space provides restraint.

Indeed she did! That makes 5 Gretsch guitars we've won between us, 2 acoustics and 3 electrics. I would've thought my itch for Gretsch was scratched, but the Gretsch rep told me they were planning to offer the Corvette model with Dynasonic pickups (which are GREAT for surf!)

Hello, my name is Stephen and I am a gearoholic.
I'm bad, I got gear-buying fever! I gotta buy more! eBay, Gearbase, all the local music stores - bring it on! I can't help myself, it's never enough, more more more yeah!

Hey Ivan, thanks for sharing, also like your post on how you really like 2012 onwards Fender Stratocaster American Standard's - think I'll buy one them babies in Sea Foam Green yeah!

'Surf Music Lasts Forever'

Hi, my name is Sascha and I'm a gearoholic. So far this year I bought 2 new guitars, 4 pedals, a '69 Bassman amp and loads of maintenance products to keep the new gear buzz going as long as possible. I've upgraded 2 guitars with Lollar pickups and my reverb tank with a TAD pan and vintage tubes. My wishlist at Thomann keeps growing longer and longer and I'm on a first name basis with the people at Visa...

I keep telling myself I'll quit tomorrow, but tomorrow never seems to come... I'm a gearoholic and I need help. Thanks for listening.
