I gather Alfredo isn't quite satisfied with this, but I think it's really fine. Not quite the "marimba sound" we were discussing, but variety in sound quality is the spice of surf. Nothing worse than everyone having the same smarmy Jag sound from a few years back. This has a great growly quality in the bass and lovely unexpected chords in the lead and a kind of distorted decay in the longer notes. Echo or rolls in the snare? (I always need help understanding drums.) Perfect action off stage track. A little less drip and a little more chunk plus a great melody of the subtle, simple kind that makes good surf pieces stand out. Lead reminiscent of an ambulance siren to set the scene. All over in 1:50. I'm playing it compulsively.
